Special Note: Sunday and Thursday Small Group

These meetings are no longer listed on the calendar, but they actively continue to meet in the background.

The Sunday group, will meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, meeting via ZOOM only, at 4:30 p.m., led by Mike and Cindy Metcalf
The Thursday group meets at the church, at 6:30 p.m., led by Terry and Linda Barker

Meeting dates may fluctuate based on group attendance, so feel free to contact the group leaders if you wish to find out about the current topic of study or specifically when the current month’s meetings will be held.

Missionary Christmas Offering…As we do each year, we are planning a Christmas Love Offering for our missionaries and ask that, if you plan to contribute, you do so between October 27 and November 3. This is a personal gift to help brighten their Christmas (vs. a gift toward their mission) and, therefore, is not tax deductible. You can include your gift with your regular tithes and offerings by indicating the dollar amount you want designated for this gift. You also can mail a check to the church.

Week of September 29-October 5

Ladies Bible Study, Oct. 2…The new Ladies Bible Study, called “God of Covenant,” by Jan Wilkin, begins on Wednesday, October 2. It meets at the church at 6:30 p.m., with Becky Martens as the lead. Initially, this study is planned to meet every other week. However, when the group meets on the first night, Becky will let the group decide if they want to change the frequency in order to complete the 10-lesson study by the end of this calendar year. Contact Becky if you have any questions.

Men’s Breakfast, Oct. 5…All men are encouraged to join us for our monthly breakfast meeting—to enjoy a light breakfast, time in prayer, and fellowship with other Christian men. We will meet at the church at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5.

Week of October 6-12

Identity Youth Group, Oct. 6…This group meets at the church from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. most Sunday evenings. All teens are encouraged to come enjoy a fun time together as well as study the Word of God.

Family Event, Oct 11…Our October Family Event will be a Movie Night held at the church on Friday, October 11. We’ll be showing Unsung Hero, beginning at 6:00 p.m. (see movie description on separate flyer on the table at the back of the auditorium.) Please eat a quick dinner at home as this evening will not include a meal. However, the church will provide bottled water and popcorn. If you want additional treats, consider this a BYOC event (bring your own candy). Please try to be on time…the idea of beginning at 6:00 is to ensure the event ends early enough for the young children attending. Please contact Cheyenne if you have any questions.

Week of October 13-19

Communion, Oct. 13…

Prayer Meeting, Oct. 13…Prayer Meeting is held monthly on the second Sunday of each month. Join us on October 13 at 4:00 p.m. We will pray together as we focus on needs and praises for our church, our community, and beyond.

Identity Youth Group, Oct. 13…This group meets at the church from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. most Sunday evenings. All teens are encouraged to come enjoy a fun time together as well as study the Word of God.

Creation Answers for Today, Oct. 14…Led by Marty Engel, this group meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. There’s no set membership or any pre‑work. Join Marty at the church at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th of October for Biblical answers and an open discussion. Feel free to bring a friend!

Ladies Bible Study, Oct. 16…The new Ladies Bible Study, called “God of Covenant,” a 10-session study by Jan Wilkin, began on October 2, so it’s not too late to join. This group meets at the church at 6:30 p.m., with Becky Martens as the lead.

Ladies Fellowship Breakfast, Oct. 19…This ministry meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month at Panera Bread on 254 E Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach. Meet at 8:30 a.m. on October 19 for fellowship time. Feel free to purchase coffee/breakfast as you arrive.

Week of October 20-26

Board Meeting, October 20…The October Board Meeting will be held on Sunday, October 20 at 3:30 p.m. Please keep our church elders and deacons in prayer as they meet to discuss current business and plan for the coming months.

Week of October 27-November 2

Missionary Christmas Offering #1, Oct. 27…As a reminder, this is the first of two weeks we have allocated for contributions to the annual Missionary Christmas Offering (refer to the general note at the top of this activity listing for more details). Again, thank you in advance for your generosity.

Note for this coming weekend:

Daylight Saving Time for 2024 will end on Nov. 3 with most Americans having to "fall back" for the biannual time change and turn their clocks back an hour. Please make it a point to set your clocks back one hour before retiring on Saturday, November 2.
